What is low back pain?

Low back pain refers to any aching, throbbing, or general discomfort that occurs in your lower back. Generally speaking, the lower back is considered anything below the bottom of your rib cage and your buttocks.

How is low back pain diagnosed?

To diagnose low back pain, Dr. Noblitt reviews your health history and asks about your symptoms, including where the pain occurs, what it feels like, and whether certain activities, like climbing stairs or lifting objects, worsen it.

Next, Dr. Noblitt completes a physical exam. She assesses your overall range of motion and has you complete a series of exercises to better understand your mobility and strength. If these tests don’t provide enough information, she may also order diagnostic imaging, like an X-ray or an MRI, or lab tests.

Dr. Noblitt may recommend several tests or appointments to identify the cause. 

How is low back pain treated?

Dr. Noblitt treats low back pain using holistic medicine, regenerative medicine, and traditional Western techniques. Depending on your unique situation, she may recommend:
